How to get to Tarragona


TRAINS FROM BARCELONA
A one-hour train ride from Sants station (Barcelona's main station) down the coast to Tarragona.
Regional trains leave Barcelona once or twice an hour: There are also long-distance trains (the last one from Barcelona to Tarragona leaves at 10.30 at night).

Trains currently leave Sants (platform 5) at 6.06, 6.30, 7.33, 8.03, 8.33, 9.03, 9.33, 10.03, 11.03, 12.03, 13.03, 13.30, 14.03, 14.33 (not on Saturdays), 15.03, 16.03, 16.33, 17.03, 17.33, 18.03, 18.33 (not on Saturdays), 19.06, 19.33, 20.03 (not on Saturdays), 20.33, 21.03 (only Fridays), 21.33. After that you have long-distance trains at 22.00 and 22.30.

Trains from Tarragona to Barcelona: 5.52 (not on Sundays), 7.00, 7.20 (not on Sundays), 7.47, 8.15, 8.52, 9.25, 10.25, 11.25, 11.52, 12.25, 13.24, 14.28, 14.55, 15.55, 16.30 (not on weekends), 17.03, 17.28, 17.50 (only on Sundays), 18.30, 18.54, 19.19 (only on Sundays in summer), 19.48 (only on Sundays), 19.57, 20.17, 20.21 (only on Sundays in summer), 20.58, 21.20 (only on Sundays), 21.32, 22.05 (Euromed, will cost you 16 euros).

TRAINS FROM MADRID
There are five long-distance trains every day from Madrid to Tarragona. Please visit http://www.renfe.es/ for detailed information on train schedules.

TAXIS
A taxi from the Barcelona airport to Sants train station might cost 15 to 18 euros. From Reus/Salou airport to Tarragona, about 12 euros. From the Tarragona train station to a hotel in town, about 7 euros. All prices depend on how many pieces of luggage you put in the boot.

FLIGHTS
To Barcelona. It is also possible to fly into Reus/Salou airport, which is 8km from Tarragona and serves the tourist city of Salou. Reus airport receives Ryan Air and charter flights. The tickets tend to be cheap (from the UK, Germany, Holland, and probably a few more countries as well).
