The UNESCO Chair in Translation Studies of Comenius University (UCTS)

UCTS was founded in accordance with the agreement signed by UNESCO Secretary General
and the rector of Comenius University. It was originated on the basis of a joint
project by the Philosophical Faculty of Comenius University and Faculty of Education
of Comenius University. UCTS is the institution of the University based at the
Philosophical Faculty with other faculties and parts of the University participating
in its activities.
· Five-year undergraduate programme leading to Magister.
Languages: Slovak, Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish,
Portuguese, Russian, Serbo-Croat, Swedish.
Exchanges: Temporary arrangements with Warwick, Warsaw, Rome (Sapienza).

Undergraduate study:
Students study translation within five-year undergraduate teacher training program.
During the last three years of study they can specialize in translation.
Languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian
Postgraduate study:
Students with any university degree and high language competence can enroll on
a two-year postgraduate study of specialized translation. The study focuses
on legal, economic, scientific, technical texts and translation for EU institutions.
